Screenplay contest update: don't call us, we'll call you
Compared to Girl in the Painting, the reception for We Know Where You Live was decidedly muted. A few readers, however, thought it might make a good movie. The thought had crossed my mind as well, and so with only minimal knowledge of how to proceed, I sat down and wrote a screenplay.
Studios and producers, of course, almost never consider spec screenplays from amateur writers. The only chance of getting noticed is to win recognition in a screenplay contest. I entered my script in three. So far I'm oh for two. I should hear, or not hear, from the third any day. I'm not holding my breath.
